So hes invited me out this weekend, its going to be a late night and so he asked me if id want to stay over his place.

We were flirting back and forth and when he asked me about staying over i said id bring a change of clothes and he said "thats optional"

 

Just kidding or is he saying he wants sex?

I would do that and tell him either before or soon after you arrive. And have some type of excuse: 1. just not ready for anything to happen and need to avoid temptation; and 2. have something you need to do.
