Adoration and Hatred

This is a long poem, I'll warn you in advance. I've been told it's my best, but I'm not particularly fond of it. I admit, it was quite intense and I did have alot of emotion while writing this.

 

Adoration and Hatred

 

How I admire you.

How I long for your love.

It's unrealistic and unachievable.

How I fell so hard is inconceivable.

 

You are my god.

You dominate my thoughts.

You took me on a journey.

I never could stop following.

 

I'm always slightly behind you.

I cannot confess my feelings.

You would never love me.

I tie my own heart-shaped noose.

 

How you've unwittingly seduced me.

Oh so slowly, so perfectly and completely.

And now you're all I see.

You're a statue of infinite beauty.

 

You didn't set any traps, but you snared me.

And you never checked what you caught.

Thus, I remain in this bitter cage.

I see your sea of admirers.

 

I'm just another face in the crowd.

Stab my throbbing heart out.

Stop the pain.

No; No, I can never stay away.

 

I love you.

I * * * *ing hate you.

I can't understand why.

Why I continue to lie.

 

Oh you're my precious sin.

And it's wearing my sanity thin.

Perhaps you've known all along.

And you didn't want to crush the fragile.

 

Would you pity me if you knew?

I couldn't take your pity.

I rather you despise me,

And destroy me completely and utterly.

 

You're the poison I consume.

You're the deadly seductive fume.

I'm the coward.

I'm the fool.

 

I loathe your breaking of my reason.

I wish for deliverance from my agony.

Reject me, hate me, leave me.

Make me cease to be.

 

I grieve for nothing.

I weep for the emptiness.

Here I am, do you not see me?

I'm the torturer and the victim.

 

You're a fire I can't touch.

Yet I always get scorched.

I'll always admire you from afar.

I live near the warmth of your glow.

 

Alas! My lips are sealed.

It's a secret I won't reveal.

My voice is lost in ineffable feeling.

I will never tell.

Really good dil, captures the pain and emotion of that horrible feeling all of us have suffered at some point, unrequited love.

 

You have a real talent for writing.
