I Forgot to Tuck

Not sure where I conjured this one out of. Just needed to write to remember some things and help myself move forward. Hope someone enjoys it.

I Forgot to Tuck

Imagine the images of your eyes

The beating of your mind

Displaying the cruelty

Of your sighs. When

All is lost

Don't forget the way

Your eyes did beat

Back and forth. The glint

Of the lights, the

Uneasiness of your facial

Reconstruction,

You sighed in your rage

And I failed to save us.

Unaware of the true world

We became sorely bruised

Head to toe,

Life is as it moves, and no matter

How much it rains this month,

We are the dogs of this war,

We are the ones that love the rain

And chase the trains

To listen to the bells

Calling for our lives

To move out of the way.

Nothing is more important

Than yourself.

Never forget what we

Destroyed.

Well I'm a believer of "you take what you want from poems."

Questioning the story behind it kind of ruins it because it is ultimately you who finds some sort of pathos from the poem.

Definitely a break-up poem about what is wrong. And its her inability to trust/love herself, as she doesn't have enough self-confidence.
