Q10
I was checking the drinking games and on one of them said "use beer to avoid coma", is it not possible to go in an alcohol coma with beer?
southerngirl
Oh yeah it is possible if enough is consumed. Also alchohol will affect different people in different ways, so this could happen sooner for some than others. Its all alchohol no matter what the 'flavor' or 'type'. NJRon
I imagine it depends on how fast you drink it. I don't see why you *couldn't* go into a coma with beer if you chugged it. The thinking is that since beer has such a low alcohol content, you get full or pass out before you have a chance to go into shock. However, I know of more than one college kid that had to be rushed to the hospital and due to overdosing and it was just beer.
Tex1907
Eat food while you are drinking. If you have liqour make mixed drinks instead of shots. By mixed drinks I mean soda mixed with ONE thing not 3 different kinds of booze mixed together.
Scout
Yes, you can if you drink enough of it. And you can also damage your liver and your brain, and poison your blood.
Slacker
alcohol from beer is a great deal less likely to kill you, as it has a very high water content and is easier for your body to.... "reject" Allthough difficult/unlikely, beer can put you in a coma, but you would need a very high tolerance and probably to continue drinking after you purge the contents of your stomach (several times)
CarnelianButterfly
All alcohol can cause damage no matter how little is per drink if you have enough of it. Beer has more volume than the hard stuff, but I've seen people be hospitalized on just beer. Be responsible and don't over do it. If your throw up you've gone too far, its a serious warning sign that your body is not doing well.
chai714
I'm not certain, but I do know some people who are allergic to alcohol. One friend had to be hospitalized after only having a sip.

NJRon
yeah I'm having a little party here with some friends tomorrow, and I was looking for some drinking games & I just wondered I think the reason they say that is because if you drink it at a normal pace, you will be full physically before you can even poison yourself? So you will puke even if you're not too intoxicated, just because you're too full, just like what happened to you with water. Puking is your body's way of rejecting poison. If you drink to the point of puking, you are poisoning yourself. You are damaging your liver, your stomach, your esophagus as well as the enamel on your teeth. It is entirely unhealthy and not fun. DN
Drinking games can be very dangerous. Please reconsider before doing anything that could endanger your health. Thread closed
