annie24
link removed in case you have ever wondered, here is an interested article on sex in outer space, discussing some of the challenges and differences versus a gravity environment. if humans had to leave earth and reproduce in outer space, this article brings up some interesting points. like that gravity is required for normal development in the womb. just some things to think about.... Majoraslayer
Humans couldn't survive without gravity anyway. The heart shrinks in zero gravity after prolonged exposure, and that is a medical problem a lot of astronauts have had after returning to Earth. I can't remember if the heart actually restores back to normal easily when returning to Earth's gravity, but I'm afraid that after TOO long in those conditions it could become life-threatening. CarnelianButterfly
More than just that there are significant issues with muscle atrophy and bone loss. The artificial gravity is a good idea, but the fact is there are somethings that are not meant to be done space, our bodies have spent millions of years developing in the presense 9.8m/s^2 of gravity, micro-g is not a healthy environ for adults let alone fetuses.
