koolaidnovel
Stale cigarette smoke and faintly spicy cologne seduce my senses. I pull the blanket closer as our feet barely brush against each other. You seemed to be taking me in a minute ago But now your glazed eyes focus on the TV. A photo, a look (What did you just say to me?) The room is a cloud and I'm the smoke, floating up and away... Then Your hand on my leg, Our eyes jump to meet one another's Yours gleam with a beautiful melancholy twinge... And it's an exhilarating dream. And for the few seconds that I can concentrate, I wonder... ...what you see.
Legionnaire
I was reluctant to post something on this site, but your poem was so good to pass up. It draws me in too the moment, and I can really relate to the question you ask at the end. Those are the times, where just that gaze into someone else's eyes where you know, you wonder, you grow. Very deep, very concrete. I loved it.
