shysoul, that's true. I agree that would be good to remember where you've been and how you got where you are today. For me I've been keeping a journal of my thoughts and I think that's enough for me to help me remember what I've been through along with the memories in my head. But I guess pictures and other things can help bring up a whole set of memories and feelings from the past that can help you recreate the past and really appreciate the progress you've made.

bkjsun, Guess its up to the person and what they can handle. For some, like you, a journal can be enough. But for others they want to be able to have something physical to remember a person by. Yes, it hurts to look back at things sometimes. And yes, if you aren't ready to look at it, don't. But for many it can be helpful when the right time comes. All really up to the individual.
