Smiling innocent

The girl with the butterfly clips in her hair

 

Trusting, allowing, inviting it all

Little girl

...with a voice so small

 

Still, old enough to know that stuff

I fear,

 

It was my fault you were so near

 

Innocence (and my sanity since)

Robbed bare

Did you steal,

Or did I share?

 

I remember kisses

And quiet laughter

And secrets and hands

With fingers

Eversearching

 

And our plans

 

To run away together

In a jeep

In summer weather

To your cabin

...forever?

 

With nobody around

I swear not so make a sound
