On The Brink Of Sorrow

On the brink of sorrow

No more tomorrows

No more wine and song

And getting along

Just clashing noise

"It's not a toy"

Driving too fast

Pain from the past

A little boy crying

And almost dying

Grief turned to rage

Clipped wings in a cage

It's not the truth

All this abuse

Suffered together

It didn't get better

I'm sorry for pain

No more me, just rain

I'm sorry for tears

And the hurtful years

I wish it were softer

Voices turned to laughter

One day you will smile

More than once in awhile

No image, just light

Just eyes burning bright

A sweet human creature

God in every feature

You are beautiful, a pearl

That is built in a swirl

Of pain turning to joy

Precious little boy

Rest in the night

"It will be all right…"

Wow, definitely one of the most impressive poems i have read on this site. A couple lines need to be more less "out of the blue" (only 1 line I think. its in the first stanza), but I love the rhym/rhythm... both very consistent and pleasant to read.

I choked up a bit. Made me think a lot

Well written.
