TheDMan05
Hi, this is my first post. First, I have to tell you that I am very shy. I find it extremely difficult to talk to people, even if I know them well. I have read lots of ways to get over shyness but I still have a long way to go. In short I would like some advice and a bit of encouragement. I have decided to talk to a girl in my class at college. She is slightly older than me, she's 22, I'm 19. I am not looking for a 'relationship' with her. She seems like a very nice, accepting and, most importantly, patient person. We have spoken occasionally but we have never said much to each other. I want to tell her that I am shy and that I need someone to talk to. This is what I need advice on. Should I do this? How do you think she would react to this? My gut feeling is that this would be acceptable to her but I don't know for sure. If you think I should, or that it wouldn't hurt to try then please give me some encouragement. As I said I am very shy and I am not sure that I will be able to do it.
nikkers04
Just walking up to her is the first step.....for me thats always the hardest part. Just start casual....Hey how are you? Then let the conversation go from there....You'll be fine....GOOD LUCK
Alabama
I wouldn't suggest just start with asking for help. It could throw the person off their guard. Just take it slow and see where it goes. If you feel you have a chance to ask her for help and she's a nice person. Then do it.
