From_Now_On Posted May 16, 2005 Share Posted May 16, 2005 Invisible Today I am invisible and you cannot see me It's not that you aren't looking this time I have just decided to be It doesn't hurt so much To be seen completely through By anybody else (Though especially by you) When you aren't visible anyway (Mostly I just get in the way) I guess… I don't know, I'm such a mess I want to hide from everything Though I really do not know why And to tell you the honest to goodness truth This sort of is a lie I wish that you would notice me Yeah, you, and no one else But I slowly grow more transparent And I can scarcely see myself To fade away you can't start out gone Maybe that's where I've been going wrong And if you were here, you'd see (Somehow) I still fade so easily Can you hear me still? Can you hear someone who's invisible? I don't know… Can you touch me still? Can you touch someone who's invisible? And I know exactly how that feels... To wish to be invisible and yet really what we want is the other person to stop dead in their tracks, reach out and grab us, hold us.... Sometimes when we try and make ourselves invisible, it is truly the last thing we want.... FNO, you've struck a chord very, very close to home with me on this one.... Well, you're a little more 'privvy' to knowing, but you know.... Thanks for sharing you poetry with us - I know I keep telling you this, but you really have an incredible gift.....
