einsteins_girl
Google is giving me conflicting information, so I'm taking it to the people. When you buy grocery store pumpkin pie, open it, and eat a piece, where do you store the remaining pie? Fridge or counter?

Lester
https://www.stilltasty.com/questions/index/164 What ott big brother recommends ^ but I left it out for at least two days and gasp, am still alive! It tasted better and the five pounds of bacteria in my body appreciated the boost.

katrina1980
What a great question! Where did you find the pie, in the refrigerated section, or on a counter with other fresh baked goods? I think it would make sense that if you found on an unrefrigerated counter, that it would not need to be refrigerated after opening. If you found in fridgerated section, then you would! But great question, I love pumpkin pie! Anything pumpkin really, this morning I put pumpkin creamer in my coffee!
reinventmyself
I used to leave it out, because after all that's how I bought it. Until one time I bought one at Costco only to discover the next day is was growing mold. Now I refrigerate them

j.man
If you wanna be a real wild card, by all means let pastries containing eggs and dairy sit out. Assuming it's been baked to temp, you're probably not going to die if it sits out a little longer than it should. But, yes, you should refrigerate pumpkin pie. Or throw it out and make the better decision of getting a pumpkin cheesecake instead.
ThatwasThen
I say flip it like a coin. If it lands pie plate side down, refrigerate it. If it lands pie side down, then leave it for the dog.
Starlight925
Fridge vs. Counter? Is there a third option......trash? That's where pumpkin pie goes for me. Yick. But I'd say fridge.
