RainyCoast Posted May 8, 2017 Share Posted May 8, 2017 people can be intimidated by the needs of a person who is down, lonely and unsupported because it means one would be left with a whole lot of negativity to contain, and a lot of listening, empathizing and empowerment to offer, leaving the "friend" depleted. how about if you made this a support buddy thread of sorts instead, so that people can walk in and out exchanging support, venting etc... more people get buddies, you can be an online support network for each other, and because there's more of you to chime in, no one gets compassion fatigue. and if you need support on specific matters, you can always post a thread. what makes getting friends in real life difficult btw?
