women & hair removal

I thought in the USA, all women did the legs/pits, below the belt is up to them. Me - those legs better be shaved along with the pits. As far as below the belt seems like ALL women do it now. I am in my 40's and been single for a year, over the last year I have had many women and cant think of one that wasnt bare down below even in their late 30's/40's. The only good thing for being bare down there is oral LOL. Some say its cleaner. For the hell of it as a guy I did it. Wont do that again cut the hell out of my tool.

I definitely shave because I notice when my armpit hair is not shaved - ie i let it go a week so its not long, just maybe a mm or two, it is uncomfortable. Deodorant doesn't work as well and I don't feel as fresh. I shave my legs for looks - it doesn't look great when wearing shorts, etc. I am more lax in the winter with my legs - I shave but its not an every other day occurrence. But I just can't let my armpits go.

O.k. here's my story. I'm 56 so take it with that thought in mind!! When we started shaving, I think most girls shaved up to the knee, since that is where the darker hair grew. I still remember in 8th grade, standing next to the school talking about shaving. My mom wouldn't let me yet. The girls all looked at my legs and decided I 'should'. So I went home and snuck a razor and did the deed.

In my 20's, I was dating a guy, and we were in his car, and the light was shining on my thighs. The hair there is light and thin, like on my arms. He asked why I didn't shave there, I retorted, why don't you shave your arms!!

 

Just this year I found out the 'young ones' shave below. I shave down there now also, but I thought I was being 'different' and now I find out it's 'expected"!! Who knew!!

 

Now on to the 'hair'. I have a cousin, also 56 who NEVER has shaven. She's very bohemien tho, never married, but is with a guy for over 20 years, lives in an earth home, very artsy. She has never cut her hair, or shaved her legs as an adult. Hair is thin, and soft, not stubbly and thick. Doesn't shave pits. Kind of shocking when she lifts her arms, but I could care less. That's her. She has a guy that loves her. They also don't spend money on a lot of clothes either. Just very hippy-ish. Haven't ever asked her about her sex-life!!! LOL

 

My opinion, do what makes you happy, and find a man who loves you as you are!! I think the shaven below the belt thing started with the porn girls, and all the guys expected us to look like them!

Your family should mind their own business. And if anyone doesnt like what they see, they should look away.

 

I personally prefer hairless for myself but I do have a massive birth mark on my leg which is very obvious when I wear skirts but I still wear skirts all the time, in professional meetings, at conferences... Whatever. It doesnt bother me, why should it bother anyone else?

I shave off everything but my eyebrows and head hair. I'm happy that way, and disgusted with myself any other way. Hair and stubble on myself just makes me feel smelly and ugly. Seems to me a number of men would be turned off by hairy legs and armpits on a woman, simply because we are socialized to groom ourselves certain ways, but I'm sure there are a handful who would be accepting of that. Like anything, it's possible to be accepted for your choices, but the further from the norm one strays, the harder it gets.

 

People get pretty intense when it comes to hygiene and grooming. Smelly or hairy people tend to catch a lot of flak, no doubt. Seems to not be a criticism we can keep to ourselves.
