Two open doors

One mine, one yours

Floating accross the deep blue ocean

 

There's a bottle out at sea

With a message can it be

A page ripped from a book that's been forgotten

 

Years have passed away

Tears they fall all day

There's a storm cloud that covers the water

And the rain keeps pouring down

Now the bottle cannot be found

And the doors they drift apart even further

 

There's a stranger who's crying for the book that's been dying

There's a story that's been twaiting to be given its happy ending

If only the last page can be found

Far below the broken docks floats a bottle through the rocks

With a page that's been numbered "17" for each knocks

On our doors to this life was the only sound

 

But the doors remained wide open

While time beckons for more

Until one day the bottle drifted through

And shattered as it hit the floor

The page within found it's rightful place in a book that was forgotten

That book was about me and you

 

As the page revealed

What has once been concealed

After 17 years of searching

Here the book remains open

For there was no happy ending

 

The sky turned to black

And the waters went away

The doors they stand side by side

Closed and locked to our dismay

 

Wait! There's a light peircing through the keyholes

Take a look inside

There you are

Here I am

Two broken hearts staring into each other's souls

 

Now the book has a new chapter

But the pages have no words

For the doors cannot be opened from within.
