OptomisticGirl
I found out today I'm apparently not the only one who feels that way. Now it's just a matter of do you go to your boss (who created the situation to begin with) or the boss's boss (who is only going to tell the boss that something was said)? OptomisticGirl
My MIL has gotten her 5th guinea pig. I think we need to have an intervention for her - that, or she's trying to send a not so suttle message that she wants grankids.

At one time, I had 10 guinea pigs all living in a large 4'x6' cage in my living room.
redrose85
Guinea pigs are awesome companions, but nothing like grandkids lol. They're more like caged cats in my opinion.

OptomisticGirl
I can't believe we are suppose to get up to 2 inches of snow tomorrow (I will believe it when I see that sluggy crap on the ground) and it is 60 degrees today! I'm wearing a tank top, leggings, and flip flops to school and I'm LOVING it!! I am so ready for spring, perhaps even more now that we've decided to go home (aka visit Myrtle) for a few days in March to tide us over until our longer trip in September. I need ocean. I need spring!
redrose85
I want snow. All we’ve got is fog. If it insists on being winter, BE winter
hers
This may be naive but I thought all of canada is covered in snow this time of year! What's the temperature like?
Seraphim
This may be naive but I thought all of canada is covered in snow this time of year! What's the temperature like? The West Coast is very temperate. They get mostly rain in the winter.
Seraphim
Right now I think the island is at 5 Celsius or 41 Fahrenheit.
OptomisticGirl
I have to admit, I thought all of Canada got snow too, hahaha
Seraphim
Well all the provinces do get snow. It is just that the West Coast is temperate. The rest of the BC is covered in snow. You can't go into the mountains in the winter without chains on your tires. So while many parts of the country are very cold the BC coast is really very temperate. And they are more temperate because they are on the ocean.
OptomisticGirl
It's SNOWING! Okay, they are tiny little flurries and we may only get a dusting but it's snowing! I'm such a child.
OptomisticGirl
image removed So the tiny flurries turned into big flurries and it hasn't stopped since it started, as evident by the state of my car. I'll be walking to work tomorrow! And of course the kids had to enjoy the snow image removed

redrose85
Circe!!! OG- it’s basically foggy here this winter. It has been fairly dry, but we’re in for a week of rain coming up. We don’t get snow often, so when we do it’s a big event hahaha.
OptomisticGirl
Circe!!!! how have you been? I've thought about it over the last few months wondering how you were doing! Yeah any amount of snow in the South is cause for a state of emergency. Seriously.
hers
One of my friends in Atlanta posted that she's stuck in a Walgreens and has been there all night. Another friend posted that 2 of his friends are stuck on the ice on 285. and a baby was born in the middle of all of that. This is craziness!! OptomisticGirl
Atlanta is so bad right now. The Georgia DOT swore they had it covered an it wouldn't be like it was three years ago... I think it's worse. Some kids are still at their schools and had to sleep in the gym. Of course I have to work in a hospital which never shuts down. Everyone in my department made it though. I walked this morning.
OptomisticGirl
L and I have started the process of looking at apartments in Conway to see about how much we would need to save up to keep us a float for a few months while we searched for jobs. We both are just completely tired of dealing with this town's crap.
