One of my co workers has been out for about a week now with her husband in the husband (before Christmas at least). They just found out tonight he has pneumonia and coupled with his drinking and not going to the doctor sooner, it doesn't look good. They are putting him on meds over the weekend but if they haven't made any progress by Monday they are sending him home on hospice. My heart just breaks for her. annie24 Posted December 29, 2012 Share Posted December 29, 2012 People piss me off sometimes. I've had pneumonia before and it is awful. But yes, so much of it is just not taking care of yourself. If you take a few days off of work when you have bronchitis, it's better than taking a month off with pneumonia. My coworker had a bad cold and was coughing and hacking. I told him to spend the entire weekend in bed. He's like I can't I have to do yard work! Well the next week he goes to the Doc and he has bronchitis. He fell right before Christmas and couldn't remember my co worker, had to e strapped to the bed... I never knew it could do all that. But yeah if the meds don't work he'll be sent home on hospice. My co-worker's mom passed away on Christmas eve from her cancer (real nice thing to happen to her christmas-loving daughter) The world does suck sometimes. I'm making a donation to the hospice society in her memory because more families need that opportunity to have a peaceful goodbye.
