tonight as i was sleeping, love,

a dream i dream.

of you and me, my love.

the best i've had of dreams.

 

in this dream, my love.

for ever, time for you and i.

i felt your warmth embraced, my love,

an eternal kiss for the eye.

 

lightened by your smile, my love.

murderd all my demons.

lucky was i, my love.

to have this dream of dreams.

 

as death created it took, my love.

Guilty or not,

i awoke, my love.

and eternal it was not.

 

a gift i found as i awoke, my love.

the dream was not a lie.

i found the best sight, my love

i was by your side.

 

and since then, my love.

i no more dream while i sleep.

i dream while awake, my love.

and if i sleep,

 

i dream to awake, my love.
