The suicide of Jesus Christ

the life is lost

the world has suffered great loss

ever since the fateful day

we took your life upon the cross

you came willingly into our world

knowing you were going to die

you had a chance to save yourself

you broke your rules that we live by

delivering yourself to death

you never tried to hide

the grave is written

my name is jesus christ and this is my suicide

you died for the wicked to be forgiven

they never thanked you at all

they sell the cross that killed you

and idolize your fall

worship thy teachings

and not thy self brought death

if only we knew your final thought

or watched your last breath

oppinions please

i thought it was good. it was very deep. i thought it was going to be heretical or screligious, but it's not at all, it actually has way more meaning than any run of the mill "praise god" church hymn, and it's something to think about as well. i think that it's a great poem to share with people, the kind i wish i saw more often. seriously, it's good, keep at it man.

VERY interesting premise. It's a song of praise on Christ, not what's been built around him. Personally, I'm an atheist, but I still find the value in Christ, and this is a poem that shows appreciation for who he was and what he stood for. It's very well written, and the title catches your eye immediately. THAT is very important. You have a strong title that leads into a well thoughtout poem. It warrants repeated readings. Regardless of faith, it's a poem that can be appreciated for not only the ideals of the author, but also what it stands for. I'm impressed. Keep up the good work.
