thouse
I was wondering if anyone here was a consultant and how did you go about doing it? I am currently an auditor at a health care company. Link to comment
karvala
What type of consultant is the obvious question? IT consultant? Management consultant? Consultant heart surgeon? I don't think there's anything (worthwhile ) that is just a generic consultant. Link to comment
thouse
I was thinking of an Auditing or Auditor consultant. With the push for quality assurance in healthcare I was thinking there could be a market for that. Link to comment
sanadee
Well, obviously holding experience/a track record in a given field is necessary. But i'd also think networking and getting to know people within your industry is key also. This way, you would have your end on the ground, so to speak, as well as knowing about who requires advice (which obviously is what consultancy is all about). Link to comment
Maverick44
How many years have you been an auditor for? What kind of auditor? I'm an auditor as well. Been a practicing CPA/CISA auditor for the last 9 years. I have broad range of experience and am able to be consulted on a variety of topics in the accounting (financial, businss processes, taxes) and IT related fields. I can identify myself as a consultant because it really is what I am able to offer now after that many years of experience and the range of fields I have worked in. Some may be more specialized than I, however. So, again, how many years and what kind of auditor? What kind of consulting are you looking to do? Contract consulting with an emphasis in healthcare auditing or auditing in general? What kind of auditing? Best regards, Maverick Link to comment
