Body's humming with things gone The figurative dropping of the bombs Strained eyes searching through the haze Hiding light and darker days. Lying, covered in the corner Why didn't anyone warn her? The ground is smoldering, scenery is maimed Destruction will never want to change. I only like rhyming poems when they don't use really commonly rhymed words (like "sad" and "mad" or "day" and "way") and you did a great job with the wording of this poem.
