cf43
Got this new pup, a border collie lab mix. Whenever she is left alone she SCREAMS like she is being tortured until we return. We have gotten her a large sized crate, lots of toys and she is plenty comfortable inside but I want to stop this bad behavior before she is much older and 10 times worse. My folks had an Irish Setter when I was young and they gave into him when he did this. It was so bad that when everyone was out at work or school he would scream the entire time non stop. Anyone suggest any good methods of nabbing this behavior? Thanks! Link to comment
hers
Get her a cage for now that isn't much bigger than she is--one where she can stand up & turn around comfortably. If the cage is too large for her size, it can be troublesome for some dogs. Keep her in it with you in the room for a while. Then go away for 2 minutes. Show her you've returned but don't make a big deal out of it (like don't immediatey greet her, just let your prescense be know). Link to comment
