Mlost
Close tight the wooden shutters against the windy day. Walk no more on lanes of grass; pick no more rings of flowers. As you sense the warmth of summer is fading far away. Cease your strolls through living forests encasing delightful bowers. Autumn's gray head has come up to rebuke Summer's playful ways. Yet weep not for summer green, my child, you have not seen her last. For although falling leaves seem to replace a bright day's carefree ways, Summer's fair head will shine again after her wintry blanket has passed. So think not of this as an ending, or the death of a Summer's sun. But think of it as a cold beginning for a magical year to come.

CharlesF
Actually, Summer is just beginning. It is my favorite time of the year. The older I get, the more I dislike the winter. I like the long Summer days and hate the darkness and cold.
Mlost
I dislike the cold too, but if you can change your perception of it, it can make all the difference in the world.
CharlesF
I suppose that is true, but some realities are hard to ignore, such as snow and darkness at 5:30pm. I guess there are some things you can do in the winter, like skiing, that are fun. Christmas time is also great. Anyway, you live in Orange County. Does it get cold there? Mlost
haha. You caught me on that. No, it doesn't get cold here. But I did live in Germany for 4 years and Indiana for 2, so I definitely know what winters look/feel like.
