How to get visions

Do I meditate and burn incense? How long will it take. Should I stay awake as long as possible and then fall asleep. I like dreaming, when the dreams are good then I am happy and gain insight. But most of those good dreams have my crush (faded......see other posts) in them.

 

I think I wanna be hindu, and meditate and stuff. I wanna see what buddha saw, all of his past lives come into being and pass away, and all the past lives of all living things come into being and pass away.

 

Just curious. Native Americans go on vision quests, but how do I do that. I could meditate out on a hike. But I usually have to be in the hardcore mood, and I am tired so usually slump over and snooze.
