I knew a girl who loved me

 

I knew a girl who loved me once upon a time

We met in high school and I gave her a line

I met her with roses outside of her door

I wish I was blessed with her love once more

 

I knew a girl who loved me, I met in my dreams

We were both young, a young king and young queen

We were both happy in that castle of ours

And we laughed and we laughed as I dreamed for hours

 

I knew a girl who loved me, my best friend

Unfailing love grew, no sight of an end

"You'll never make it" is what we were told

I went all in, she decided to fold

 

I knew a girl who loved me, my future we wrote

of loving and dancing and rocking the boat

Others were sick of the time that we spent

Unchanging love from the heavens was sent

 

I knew a girl who loved me more than anyone

She loved me so much she gave birth to my son

Her loving her care there is not another

My son is so blessed to have her as his mother

 

I knew a girl who loved me, I could tell by her smile

we were clinched in love for such a long while

Storms came my heart stayed hers decided to flee

How can I go on with only half of me?

 

I knew a girl who loved me, far far away

lost back in time and gone to stay

I knew a girl who loved me so increidbly so

I knew a girl who loved me and then let me go
