Poem - losing someone

autumn

Recommended Posts

Every sunset

Tells the radiance and clear-cut beauty of this gem.

In my fist opened,

To the evening light,

Lifted, I gaze,

In the shimmering reflection of warm and enveloping ocean waves,

The overture, accompanied by song of nature,

Resounding,

In symphonic harmony,

Declaring,

The magnificence,

Of an unmatched, splendid and simple beauty.

Cursed be the day,

That my grip I lost,

When, to the ocean's depths it sank.

Nature continued its song,

Tunedly witnessing, uncompassionately,

The grave loss that was solely mine.

How chilling, and unfair, was the gust that swept,

From my clenched hand,

This treasure,

And forced its descent.

A prize too good to be true.

From heaven to hell.

I delve into the depths,

To recover,

This unacceptable loss.

With all my might,

Hands flailing,

Feet thrashing,

In vain I fight,

The unforgiving current.

The glorious sunset is now,

My enemy.

For with each night fall,

Effort dissipates, revealing,

When morning comes,

- All is lost.

Each new day brings,

A reality, clearer,

Than the day before.

Nature keeps singing,

The world keeps spinning.

And I find solace in the thought,

- This great sea holds many other pearls.

...But only one diamond like you.
