Navigating life is no easy feat. When we attempt something that turns out to be too hard or start a difficult task with no better plan than blindly hoping for the best, hopelessness and uncertainty can quickly creep in, paralyzing us from taking further steps and achieving our goals. This feeling of overwhelm is common and can make it hard to start anything. Reclaiming yoursense of self-worth by developing an empowered mindset is the best way to take on life’s challenges and find direction. Here are some tips to get you on your way.
First and foremost, remember that you already have the capacity to do what needs to be done. You have existed and grown in a highly complex environment where you are constantly making choices and learning how to navigate yourself through it. Instead of succumbing to feelings of inferiority, accept them as an invitation to foster and challenge yourself from a place of strength. Remind yourself that you possess unlimited potential: all you need is a little dedication, discipline and practice to turn it into something tangible.
Start by applying focus and clarity to your daily tasks. Create a list of objectives, prioritize them and commit to tackling them one at a time. While completing each individual goal may seem daunting, stay grounded by breaking it down into more manageable bursts of energy. Once you’ve taken action and made progress on your objectives, reward yourself with something positive like a brief break or moment of acknowledgement.
